What is Energizing Young Voters?
EYV is a suite of programs from the nonpartisan League of Women Voters and its partners designed to create a new generation of lifelong active voters. It offers classroom experiences, voter registration initiatives, opportunities for leadership development, and connections to networks of other resources and organizations that further civic engagement among young people.
EYV programs are aligned with NJ Core Content Standards and satisfy the state’s requirement to provide a discreet semester of civics education as part of the Social Studies credit requirement for middle school graduation under Laura Wooten’s Law: NJ Alignment of State Civics Standards for Grade 8 and Grade 12 with the Energizing Young Voters Modules.

The EYV program requires that college students be accompanied by a trained League member when they visit middle schools. If you are interested in participating in this worthwhile partnership, please contact us.

Drew U student Rashel Torres (left) arranged for EYV to be presented at Dover Middle School, which she attended and her brother now attends. Rashel translated the EYV lesson into Spanish and co-presented the lesson with Anthony Quesada and Maria Marquez.

Our League visits high schools and colleges throughout Morris County educating and registering young voters. Join us.
The Morris Area League of Women Voters is connecting our local high school students with Cap, Gown & Ballot, an initiative of The Civics Center that empowers teens to run voter registration drives before graduating. Through training, resources, and incentives like $150 gift cards for student leaders, this initiative is creating enthusiasm for civic participation in our community while helping young people discover their voice in our democracy.
